Viljandi Window & Door Ltd. received a regional award<\/p>\n
According to a press release from Stenbock House, the reason Viljandi Window & Door Ltd. won one of the five regional development awards this year was that the company is the county’s largest long-term taxpayer and employer that was able to continue operating successfully during the pandemic in 2020 and even hire new people. According to Paavo Juhani Lampinen, one of the company’s shareholders, a lot of people have indeed been hired during the crisis. “I can’t remember the number right now, but about a hundred and most of them from Viljandi,” said Lampinen.<\/p>\n
According to the shareholder, recognition is always appreciated, both from the state and the city. “We honour these awards highly because it is an official sign that our company is part of Estonia and Estonian society,” he said.<\/p>\n
“All the recipients of the award have a lot in common: the ability to think outside the box, the courage to take initiative and the ability to involve communities with their passion,” said Prime Minister Kaja Kallas in a press release. “Your ideas and work have led to ventures that strengthen the local economy and life, and you have shown that if you have the will and entrepreneurship, anything is possible.”<\/p>\n
Minister of Public Administration Jaak Aab stated that people who have the enthusiasm and the will to operate in their homeland and do so in a way that benefits entrepreneurship to a community and a region are the real heroes of Estonia’s sustainable regional development. “The number and content of the submitted questionnaires show that we have an incredible number of good and enterprising people, thanks to whom many forward-looking initiatives have been implemented in Estonia,” stated the Minister.<\/p>\n
According to Paavo Juhani Lampinen, Viljandi Window & Door are doing well despite the pandemic and last year the company’s new logistics centre was completed on Raua Street. “It is valuable and gave us and our customers new opportunities,” said Lampinen. He stated that while there are usually obstacles to major projects and investments, everything went smoothly with the logistics centre. “So far, there have been no big or small problems with the people of Viljandi. The logistics centre has been working smoothly.”<\/p>\n
Lampinen acknowledged that they are also experiencing growth in the building materials market, but there is also some reason for concern. “Our concern stems from the fact that raw material prices have started to rise at an unpredictable rate,” he said. ”There is also a shortage of some materials that have a very long delivery time.”<\/p>\n
According to Lampinen, it has been possible to serve customers at present, but the company has also had to look for new suppliers to obtain raw materials. “So far we have been able to procure all the materials, but we can see that there is a risk with certain types of materials in the future.”<\/p>\n
