On January 28, 2022 the candidate for this year’s Viljandi City lifetime achievement award was announced and they choosed as the shareholder of Viljandi’s largest private company AS Viljandi Aken and Uks Paavo Lampinen. The award is recognition for a person whose activities have had a positive effect on the development and reputation of the city of Viljandi.
Paavo is from Lapland, who loves opera and has lived in Viljandi for a long time. Before coming to Viljandi, he was the CEO of Finland’s largest door factory, where he had contacts with the Viljandi window and door factory. Finally he came to Viljandimaa to manage the factory. Paavo M. J. Lampinen has also been awarded the order of the white star IV class by the President of Toomas Hendrik Ilves in 2013 as the leader of the restoration of Õisu Manor.
